She triggers me every single time she shows up on rewatches.

Louise Fletcher from all accounts was a lovely human. But man she plays bitch wonderfully

She put on a masterclass of making the audience uncomfortable in every single scene she was in, incredible

I get irrationally angry whenever I see her. What we really needed was for Garak to teach her a lesson in humility.

Garak knew that he might have to assassinate her someday. It would make his innocence much more plausible if it was clear they’d never had any interaction with one another. Besides…

“Would a simple tailor assassinate a Kai?! Oh come now constable, I’ve never even talked to her. Oh, I’d see her from time to time crossing the promenade, but if that were the only thing that would qualify me as an assassin, then you should lock me to protect the life of a quarter of Starfleet’s finest officers, not to mention entire Bajoran delegations, Klingon High Council members, and the Grand Nagas while you’re at it. Now really constable, I respect your authority on this station and wish you luck in your search for an assassin, but I have a customer that needs an urgent hem for a dinner party tonight.”

Pauses for a moment and looks Odo up and down

“If you’d like me to take look at your uniform, I could fix that hem too”

as Odo looks at his feet Garak disappears

Huh, I never thought about that. I don’t think Garak ever had a single interaction with her, kinda like Korbin and Zorg in The Fifth Element.

I get irrationally angry at her too but then I remember her goofy ass at the end screaming nonsense at the space demons hoping she’s going to get superpowers or whatever.

She’s been traumatizing generations upon generations, mentioning nurse Ratchet to boomers and order and they will react in a similar way to us being asked about Kai Winn.

Edit: she deserves as many awards as she can handle for her acting skills.

It’s easy to play a villain, it’s not easy to play a person so utterly detestable and vile that the simple thought of her causes a physical reaction.

I can never hear the words “my child” and not think of her.

“Kai Opaka, its great to see you again! Your successor decided to betray the profits, join up with Gul Dukat and worship the Pah-wraiths. So we need a new Kai again. Any chance you’d be willing to work remote and we just give you a communications terminal here on this planet and you can phone in your wisdom from the prophets?”
