Not sure why you are making this political. There is an expectation that a country care for its citizens at sea. That should include the case of migrants, both to and from their country of origin and in support of a nation’s coastline. Don’t start doubting that this is the expectation because you saw a couple rich people get support that people get literally every week in other places.

Sure everyone wants their own personal castle.

I just think people can just have some slightly less nice things, maybe instead of buying a f150 truck get a small utility vehicle, stuff like that.

I think you have a big image of how people in rixh countries live. Most people dont live in big houses, most people dont own trucks. Sure the average person has more things than an averga person in a poor country, but the average person is not going to sacrifice their small luxuries, so people from poor countries come to live with them, especially if the people coming dont have studies and are just going to be living frol the government’s money.

I’m in no way saying the average person should have to sacrifice anything, the problem is that is exactly what your currently being force to do by the people above you.

Just think of how many people could literally be housed for life with the money spent on Jeffs latest yacht he sailed out of Amsterdam.

Where talking orders of magnitude difference between the average person and the rich never mind those who are desperately trying to escape.

Spain already has a large immigrant population. And is accepting of refugees too.

If given the choice to freely immigrate to the developed world, what percentage of the billion of people in poverty in Africa would choose to do so?

          You want a consolation prize?

It’s not the rich countries fault that for many people its not safe in their countries. The rich countries are accepting a lot of people, and there are routes for same immigration. These countries cannot take everyone and anyone, or else they would collapse. Its not hard to understand.

I come from South Africa and watching the Dutch and the amount of resources that goes to just cleaning up from a single town party it’s clear that so much more can be done.

Third world countries aren’t under developed they are overly exploited.

I’m a South African who has used every ounce of privilege I could to escape to the Netherlands.

100% I don’t deserve it I have so many friends back in South Africa, some who have doctorates that would be way more deserving than me.

I am only here due to being privvilaged enough that I could run away while affording all the complications that come from immigrating.

Where I come from we have a ton of uncontrolled immigration, it’s only dangerous is you don’t look after the desperate people who need help and especially dangerous when you try isolate them.

When your neighbour is suffering it doesn’t matter how big your wall if you will suffer along with them.

I really doubt that PhDs have any trouble immigrating legally to any developed country using the existing channels. I did it years ago with just a University degree and some work experience.

What I’m absolutely opposed to is uncontrolled immigration where anybody who feels like it comes to my country. In the same way that I don’t let strangers come to my home without my permission.

When my neighbor is suffering, I address that problem through means other than inviting them to my bedroom.

Maybe they should die. Really, think about it. The rich countries do everything they can to rest on their previous accomplishments and cut off any future growth. Regardless of what it does to their own young. Spoiled rotten, unable to do anything except teardown what they can’t build.

If westerns can’t fuck to save themselves from extinction and can’t even stand the idea that they might meet someone of a slightly different background then let them die off.
