Is there any way to filter or exclude these? I know people post the same link to different communities around the same time to get maximum reach but it gets annoying seeing the same post 2-3 times in a row.

Maybe get the app to read the link, see if it’s posted by the same user, then only show the first occurrence/post?

I already swipe to hide the post but I don’t want to be hiding everything.

Anyway, just a thought and see if anyone else has a workaround.

In this case, since it’s two different communities, nottheonion and offbeat, I don’t think there’s a way to do that.

I know, so it’s not really a “duplicate” per se - just mildly annoying. LOL

Sure there is, block the Picard maneuver.

In the web interface, crossposting is handled more cleanly – both in making them, but also collapsing them. Not sure why. Nevertheless, it is one of the few shortcomings of using Connect.

Ideally, it would show the post once, and then show the comment threads for each community, so you can dive into the various comment threads from any/all of the crossposts.

Are there other apps that handle this better?

I probably won’t switch, would just be curious to try it out.

Pretty sure this is either a problem with the app or simply a bug. Web frontend will happily combine cross posts if they appear on the same page.
