The show originally didn’t have “Star Trek” in it’s name, removed recognizable things like the combadge, beaming, holodecks and shields. Also vulcans became straight up dicks and violence was cranked up. It still is a guilty pleasure fans watch, because it still has some of Star Treks previous DNA, but It certainly didn’t age well.
It’s ultimately a Rick Berman vanity-project, where he had to backpedal on most of his terrible decisions until it was cancelled for underperforming.
