    I’ve wondered about this myself. I think they’re just looking for new frontiers of social experiences over the internet. We still don’t have good VR. When I tried it recently it was still jerky, low resolution, with uninteresting content and causing headaches after two mins. But these are all hardware issues and I expect that at some point the hardware will be good enough at a low enough cost to produce a decent user experience.
