Is there a way to search for communities in this app? I see two different search icons (one in the top bar and one in the sidebar) but neither of them turn up results when I type in the name of a community that I know exists. Maybe I’m doing something wrong.

    As mentioned elsewhere the sidebar search will show communities, but I think it only shows communities your instance is aware of.

    The best place to search I have found is Lemmy Explorer

    I’ve had a better experience going to lemmy.world in my browser for finding communities. I’ll explore on there and subscribe, then go back to connect lol

    In the main search you have to scroll to the bottom for community results AND the results are asynchronous, meaning they will populate slowly and get added on your results page as remote servers return. Sometimes it can take 30 seconds or more. :(
