I have a friend who posts stable videos while he’s walking around and I asked him how he did it because I can’t find a gimbal for my phone that actually works, he said there’s a stabilizer built into his phone. I’m not close enough to ask him again what kind of phone he has. Do you know?

update: So I googled it and hey my phone is on the list of Phones that have OIS (thanx @[email protected]), I have a Samsung S21 Ultra which appeared on the list of phones that offer video stabilization. So I checked my video camera settings, and video stabilization is already turned on, So if my phone has this, why are my videos always so shakey when I’m walking?

Thank you Yes xiaomi came up at the top of every list of phones that have this, I’ve never heard of xiaomi and I’m leery of China because they love spying on everything. Anybody else leery about exclusively-Chinese smartphones? I’ve got this fear instilled in me because as early as 2019 I was warned when Huawei became a thing, to never buy those because Spy! Spy! Spy!

Maybe he has a Zenfone 9/10? It has a 6-axis gimbal system built into the camera and it’s been significantly better stabilization than any other phone I’ve had.

It’s called optical image stabilisation (OIS), and you can just search “phones with OIS” and get your answer. Even just searching your title would have given you what you’re looking for.

I know this is “no stupid questions”, but seriously, how did you fail to realize you can just look it up yourself?
