Hello community! I’m curious about what y’all favorite long tracks are? By long I mean 10+ minutes (that is at least long to me with short attention span normally). For me it’s The Past Is A Grotesque Animal by Of Montreal (linked)
Sinnerman by Nina Simone is a great longer song! One of my favourites to listen to on my walk to work in the mornings.

Perhaps you didn’t think of classical music per se, but this is one of my favorite pieces of music, from Mahler’s “Tragic” symphony, written during a rather good period of his life if memory serves. He also didn’t call it “tragic himself” I believe. Just a beautiful movement that stands on its own.
I don’t usually have the attention span for really long tracks, but there are some exceptions for sure
Sinnerman by Nina Simone would have been my answer but someone beat me to it lol
So going another direction, check out Gilbert’s Groove by Circles Around the Sun, if you like a bit of psychedelia
Mortal Man by Kendrick Lamar. The way it ties in all the songs and explains why the album is called To Pimp a Butterfly is amazing.
I used to be really into prog rock, so my definition of a long song is kinda skewed.
Thick as a Brick - Jethro Tull is my go-to long song, but for something a bit more attention-span friendly you can try Close to the Edge - Yes
Moments in Love by Kara-Lis Coverdale.
Pink Floyd - Dogs
Grateful Dead - Terrapin Station
NOFX - The Decline
TOOL - Eulogy
Phish - You Enjoy Myself
Herbie Hancock - Chameleon
Just a few off the top of my head.
