Reintegrating humans into their ecosystems (so they are directly dependent on them and understand that dependence and thus actively steward them) is what will be required to help humans shift from their predominantly invasive form to a naturalized and even beneficial one. Like the common plantain.

    This is kind of the fundamental thought behind ecological economics if youre interested. Basically shifting our economic perspective to reflect the reality that our entire social and economic wellbeing is wholly dependent on the environment and its ecology.

      I definitely think the social and economic aspects pf permaculture need more emphasis.
