An ambulance responding to a serious crash involving a moose in Algonquin Park also collided with a moose early Sunday, Ontario police say.

An ambulance collided with a moose early Sunday as it responded to another crash, also involving a moose, Ontario Provincial Police say.

The first crash was reported just after 1 a.m. on Highway 60, near Tea Lake in Algonquin Park, police said. A vehicle struck a moose, left the roadway and then hit a tree.

“One of the two Muskoka Paramedic Service ambulances responding to the scene also collided with a moose,” police said, adding that the ambulance was “extensively” damaged, but no one was injured.

    … After retrieval from the front seat. Apparently they are the same height as the windshield.

      Not really. What happens is the car hits them at ‘knee’ level and they slide up the hood into the front seat.

      With compact vehicles they land on the roof, crushing the occupants.

      I know this because I lived in NorthWestern Ontario for 15 years and knew of people who were severely injured or died in moose collisions.
