It seems to default to showing a feed from just the instance you’re on, ie. Local. But I like to see stuff from all over the world. There are more servers than the one you’re on and there’s communities on other instances you can join.
Go to Settings… and on that page there’s an option to select the “Type” between “Subscribed|Local|All”
There’s also a selector at the top of the page, but setting it in the settings will make it the one you want when you load the page. Since you’re new, you’re not subscribed to anything so there won’t be anything there. If it’s Local, you won’t be able to find stuff on other instances. I think going with “All” makes more sense at first, at least until you’re subscribed to the communities you like.
I can’t find that setting on either mobile browser or Jerboa… I’ll keep looking though. I’m very new to Lemmy but I’m planning on staying. Reddit sucks now.
