The federal government is rebranding the carbon tax rebate. Previously known as the Climate Action Incentive Payment, the Liberals are now calling it the 'Canada Carbon Rebate,' according to a release touting the amount Canadians will be reimbursed this year.

The change does not come with any adjustments to how the federal fuel charge system and corresponding refund actually works.

“The name was updated to the Canada Carbon Rebate to clarify its function, and make its meaning and relationship to the carbon pricing system more intuitive for Canadians,” reads a government press release.

    Honestly, this is a great move. Now they can say that Pierre wants to take money out of everyday Canadian pockets by taking away their carbon rebates. They should have done this ages ago

      Absolutely. It should always have been labeled better. It’s insane how much mileage the Cons have got from that con. It’s not a tax; it’s revenue neutral.

      Trudeau is so hated that I think we’re unfortunately going to have an anti-trans bigot as our next PM.

      I feel like we’re a"light" version of what the US is facing; the hateful, racist populist will beat out the milquetoast, “fine” candidate due to “an enthusiasm gap”. Punching down on 2SLGBTQ+ and “foreigners” shouldn’t be a winning play in Canada. It’s sickening.
