I came in late to a seminar due to a location change. Usually I’m a punctual person because the anxiety is hit-and-miss in crowds.
I groused quietly about the remaining seating and suggested I just go, because it could be better for everyone. She said “oh, don’t worry: you’ll be fine.”
Before I could stop it, I’d fired back with, “oh, well that’s the feeling of a lifetime of anxiety leaving my body. Why did no one try that before?”
