The latest round of threats fits a familiar pattern: Trump faces a legal setback, and officials face threats.

In the 24 hours since the Colorado Supreme Court kicked former President Donald Trump off the state’s Republican primary ballot, social media outlets have been flooded with threats against the justices who ruled in the case, according to a report obtained by NBC News.

Advance Democracy, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that conducts public interest research, identified “significant violent rhetoric” against the justices and Democrats, often in direct response to Trump’s posts about the ruling on his platform Truth Social. They found that some social media users posted justices’ email addresses, phone numbers and office building addresses.

“This ends when we kill these f–kers,” a user wrote on a pro-Trump forum that was used by several Jan. 6 rioters.

Get a VPN with split tunneling , always on, and start on boot. Pair that with qbittorrent, which has a setting in the options to allow you to only use the VPN network. No more having to remember with that setup. Traffic won’t flow until the VPN connection is established, then torrent traffic will only go over the VPN, and the split tunnel means your regular traffic can remain off the VPN if you want.

Yeah you don’t even need to do the whole split VPN thing - unless you want to, that does seem kinda cool. You can just tether your bit torrent to only work when your VPN client connection is active. I’m new at this and was super easy to set up.

Nord fucking sucks though. Their client doesn’t actually do anything with split tunnelling, or didn’t when I last tried. It bugged out unity so it would flood the logs until all 64 gb of RAM was used and my computer would freeze. I had to open the program, disable split tunnelling then I could close the client and unity would work. Another thing that doesn’t work is being visible to LAN devices. Even with that on I can’t access my server, router, DNS, NAS or anything on my LAN. Also if that option is on and the client is closed and not even connected then it still won’t work until you open the client and disable that option. And I couldn’t get qbitorrent to bind to nord’s network adapter. I tried their proxy setup from their website instructions too and it just wouldn’t work. The torrents just would give an error because they couldn’t see the trackers.

I went to mullivad and their client just works as advertised. I had none of the above issues with mullivad’s client.

What VPN do you recommend? I’m just getting into torrenting myself, and this is how I was planning to run it, since I’ll be torrenting on my main PC for now

I use windscribe. They have a build a plan option that let’s you pick a handful of locations with unlimited data for 3$ a month. I’ve used it since January 2020.

I’ve had good results with both Nord and Proton but if you’re going to pay for it I’d suggest proton because of the other benefits you get access to. If you want ‘the most anonymous’ then mullvad is the way to go, but I can’t say whether or not torrenting on mullvad is effective as I’ve not done that.
