I read that it was a couple in a $300,000 car that went barreling in the border crossing at full speed on the US side. In the video you can see the car hit a divider and go flying up into the air before crashing down.
Not sure what happened but it seems neither side of the border services came out with terrorism as the cause. Local Canadian news reports that I first heard suspected a *traffic accident/ issue of some sort but who knows as it was pretty crazy how fast that car went flying into the border crossing in the video clip I saw.
It does remind me of another similar incident a few years back at another crossing where a car drove up to the Canadian crossing at full speed. He ran into the back of a van in line carrying gas cans and set the vehicle up in flames as a result. The driver of the van died from the incident.
Mostly it was discussed as a warning to not carry extra fuel home inside your vehicle (gas is much cheaper in the US) and there was never discussion of terrorism.
Perhaps because it’s mostly domestic terrorism (or called mental health if they are white) and that’s kind of boring for them…
Both the US and Canada are saying that it is unlikely linked to terrorism at all, as well as saying they have no evidence of explosives.
