My name is Rob, I’ve been a student, and then staff, at SFU since ~1997. I worked in the computer labs for a long time part-time, then for IT Services (then Academic Computing Services) part time in the operations centre, then for the Library full time. Currently, I work in the Library in the Systems department helping to manage the servers there. If the Library website breaks, it’s probably my fault.
I’ve been in various SFU communities over the years, starting back when SFU had its own campus Usenet server. Shoutout to the old sfu.general crowd, I know your dessicated husks are still out there.
Lemmy is new, but I hope it’s one of the next chapters in SFU’s continued community presence on the Internet.
