I’ve heard of the Camino de Santiago and was intrigued to see there are a lot more long walks around the world.

Has anyone here ever done this. I’m intrigued by the logistics of a trip like this, especially since the article describes trekkers only carry what they need for each day. Are there porters to take your things to each nights stop? Or do you wear the same clothes every day so you don’t have extra bags and carry everything you’ll need for the entire trip?

I’m currently on the camino francés route to Santiago de Compastella. My first day will be the day after tomorrow. I spend a lot of time over planning for it I’m sure. It seems very well supported by local communities and there are municipal albergues along the way. I was hoping to fund a community on lemmy for the pilgrimage.
