I’m completely speechless. This looks so terrible I thought it was a joke, but apparently Nvidia released these demos to impress people. DLSS 5 runs the entire game through an AI filter, making every character look like it’s running through an ultra realistic beauty filter.

The photo above is used as the promo image for the official blog post by the way. It completely ignores artistic intent and makes Grace’s face look “sexier” because apparently that’s what realism looks like now.

I wouldn’t be so baffled if this was some experimental setting they were testing, but they’re advertising this as the next gen DLSS. As in, this is their image of what the future of gaming should be. A massive F U to every artist in the industry. Well done, Nvidia.

Yeah this tech when in the hands of the actual devs will be transformative

People are upset about the direction they took it in a tech demo.

Granted that it is laughably insta thot looking

Game artists can literally create their exact version of ultra realistic character image and train it on that

I think DF is right. Implemented tastefully this shit will be like jumping 2 console generations.

      Plus it is OPTIONAL.

You can just switch it off ya nerds jesus

Adjusted for a more “natural” and less “cinematic” look and generally just dialed down a bit, this will be so incredible to optionally use if you want.

Yeah, people here talking about how it completely changed the facial structure. No it didn’t, the only thing it did was reshaded the eyes/lips and added proper shadows on the jawline, neck, and hair. The original had over-exaggerated highlights on the hair, thats why it looks so different.

Yes, but the original was rendered subpar, so its missing a lot of facial details and shading. I have no idea if the original had makeup or not. But regardless, thats kind of what I was implying when I said that it reshaded the eyes and lips.
