That is not now, nor has it ever been true that cops have to tell you they are cops. They can and do lie. In fact they almost always lie, it’s quicker to describe when they speak truth. Plus they can use agents that aren’t directly cops but amount to the same thing. Many agents are paid, some get a cut of any seized assets and make millions even.
Sounds like the problem is solving itself.
