Yeah I kind of feel the same. For convergence I still think Android app compatibility is necessary, but It sounds like Waydroid has made some great advances since I last tried it.
I came to post this. I would have been super stoked, and I actually was when the Motorola Atrix was announced a lifetime ago, now my first reaction is “hell no!”.
Right? I was stoked about desktop x86 Android back when my phone had a keyboard. Nowadays Google’s openly talking about breaking sideloading, because we still haven’t shattered Apple for the unforgivable censorship of the App Store.
Why would I want an OS where everything works less?
Old me would have been excited for this. Now Linux seems like the only good option.
