Many European countries have their own national alternatives, but there doesn’t seem to be much interoperability going on between countries.
I haven’t touched Visa or Mastercard (or American Express or Discover or …) in a quarter of a century.
In Canada: Interac Debit, you don’t get any perks at all (but it is a lot cheaper for the merchant).
From the US: Amex, Discover, DCI, probably aren’t muchbbetter.
