    Well
    Hm.
I know corporations aren’t people, but I’m uncomfortable with a line where you’re okay with deadnaming.

deadnaming is for people. like kicking, it’s bad to kick people, but ok to kick a ball. no one will say that I’m promoting violence by saying it’s ok to kick sport balls.

corporations aren’t people, they don’t change their name to be their true self, they do so for marketing reasons to whitewash whatever baggage they have. fuck em

Maybe don’t call it “the thing I say when I want trans people to feel bad about themselves” then

Go ask a trans community if it’s okay to deadname, ever.

so far the most upvoted comment says it’s ok to deadname twitter. and one comment saying nope has 2 upvotes and 2 downvotes.

fuck twitter, fuck Facebook (not meta). and any other corporation that changes their name to escape their shitty legacy.

Jesus, you went snooping through post histories trying to clock trans people who disagreed with you, we’re all the way done here, I have no interest in hearing from you again.
Whatever point you had is lost to me.

Go ask people that don’t like getting kicked in the balls if they are ok with the act of kicking an inflatable, inanimate ball-shaped object for recreation?

Deadnaming is already weaponized. It’s already a weapon. You can’t tell me there are innocent, legitimate forms of deadnaming.

Deadnaming a megacorp is a PR/branding/market positioning issue, which is s completely corporate, for profit process - and the micro-decisions are based on & result in ultra-processed slop/end branding campaign designed to increase revenue.

People just trying to live with themselves don’t do that.

(Ok, I’m sure someone in a country without a McDonald’s legally changed their name to “McDonald McRibs” just prior to McDonald entering their market to get a quick micro-settlement pocket change from the franchise, but it would be morally wrong to use that as an representative sample. In about the same way equating megacorp deadnaming to actual human deadnaming would be.)

Also never boot-lick megacorps, they aren’t your friend & they don’t need your help (just want it bcs it’s free labor).

I’m not defending corporations. I’m asking where the line is, for you. It seems to be “when I can justify it”.

It can’t seem to be that from what I’ve written.

          It’s clearly “when it’s a person”.

That’s where the very clear and unambiguous line is.

that’s like saying don’t have sex with consenting adult, because it justifies having sex in general, including non consentual.
