Hundreds of Carl’s Jr. locations across Southern California are offering one-dollar meals to families impacted by the ongoing federal government shutdown, officials confirmed to KTLA.
Starting Nov. 1, participating restaurants operated by Akash Management LLC — a major Carl’s Jr. franchise group with nearly 300 locations in Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire — started providing a Kids Hamburger, Small Fry and Kids Drink for just $1 to qualifying guests.
To receive the discounted meal, guests are asked to show one of the following:
A federal government employee ID
A military ID
A SNAP or EBT card

Well, good on them. A fast food hamburger isn’t what people should be living on, but it’s better than being hungry.
