Personally I’m thinking of moving to Antarctica, that seems nice and far away from everyone else.

Canada’s safe third country agreement does not apply to americans. There are currently americans in the processes of seeking asylum in Canada, and asylum courts have heard asylum claims from american citizens.
Fun fact: American specifically can’t ask for asylum with their neighbors.

I am getting my affairs in order to be out by the end of the year; if not sooner.

unless they are systematically killed, or jailed, or in a war zone, they are not there yet. yea its not elligble for refugee status.
