I think it’s worth pointing out that much of the US Democrat party has been assisting with the fascist takeover. There are some outspoken individuals that are still holding out, being outspoken and trying to fight it, but so many of the GOP’s bullshit bills have been pushed through with either Democrat silence or even outright capitulation. Outside of a few outspoken Democratic governors, there really is no party leadership or even a sense of direction at all.

The US is nearly a single-party country at this point.
