A plan to sell more than 2 million acres of federal lands has been ruled out of Republicans’ big tax and spending cut bill after the Senate parliamentarian determined the proposal by Senate Energy Chairman Mike Lee would violate the chamber’s rules.

Lee, a Utah Republican, has proposed selling public lands in the West to states or other entities for use as housing or infrastructure. The plan would revive a longtime ambition of Western conservatives to cede lands to local control after a similar proposal failed in the House earlier this year.

Not voting for the bills would be a start. It’s a pretty low fucking bar.

Yeah, they should have gone forward with the farce. I mean, they know and I know (I don’t know if you know) that the impeachment itself would not get to the floor, would not pass a vote, and would not happen. But it would keep it in the news and it would keep the MAGAts barking.

Also I don’t know if you know that the reasons for impeachment do not apply. They’re arguing trump started a war. That’s not the case. It might lead to the case, but that’s not the case. “President Trump’s unauthorized bombing of Iran constitutes a de facto declaration of war.” that de facto is doing a lot of heavy lifting and it was already fought over and won by republiQans of yore under Gee Dubz.

So they’re not moving forward with a long drawn out battle that won’t succeed and isn’t based on fact.

Does it look bad? Yeah it looks bad. Is it bad? Not really. I’d much prefer they be out doing viral events to stop the budget bill. I think that’s what they’re really interested in spending the next several weeks on.

Rest assured the demented rapist can be impeached on any number of things that have a much higher chance of success than this.

Correct. It wouldn’t have gone anywhere. That means they could vote any way they wanted and it wouldn’t have mattered. They could’ve supported the movement to impeach to try and win voters over. But they didn’t. They chose to suck up to Trump over you.

They are not on your side.
