My Iranian friends told me that all communication with their families has been cut off by the government. I know of associations gathering funds for donating eSIMs in Gaza where Israel did the same. Do you know of any such possibility in Iran?

My friend has a public profile, and we are thinking of organizing a fundraiser.

    Question from the uninformed: how do eSIMs get around the shutdown if internet and cell networks? Satellite (Starlink)?

      I don’t know the actual answer, but my guess is that the eSim is from a different country and thus can get through block filters. If the cell tower is down, it probably won’t work though.

        This is at least true in China. Chinese Internet censorship is quite famous but if you have a foreign SIM then you are not subject to the firewall.
