If they didn’t ban all dissenting opinion, some of .ml’s users might be exposed to other ideas and ideologies and possibly even realize that Dessalines is full of shit and jump ship to a better instance where they have no influence.
Most instances have their own Dessalines. Some are pro-Trump, other pro-Russia, but there are also vegan Dessalines, JRPG Dessalines, LGBT Dessalines, libero-fascist(don’t ask) Dessalines. They all are crazy and ban whatever they don’t like.
I don’t disagree with you. But I don’t think borrowing terminology from the likes of Jonah Goldberg is a good idea. Not that including those types in the list is wrong or anything. There absolutely are those that over react over misunderstandings, or outsiders unaware and failing to use particular terminology. That said, I’m not sure if a truly good term for them that doesn’t unduly smear the term. The way fascists have turned SJW into an epithet in reference to those types.
