If the government’s stance is so well based in fact and authority … then it shouldn’t be afraid of any kind of criticism or debate from any side. The fact that they just remove any dissent goes to show how weak and dishonest everything is.

I’m touching on something else. That even if we voted for someone less autocratic, if this is how the system works, the only thing stopping them from doing the same is them… being less autocratic. I think that’s a problem with our democratic system itself. And I think the solution is to make that much more difficult, not merely try to choose better behaved reps. I know I’m not saying anything new here, as we’ve discussed the same problem in the context of the electoral system. Just another facet I guess.
