I find sours undrinkable, the last few I’ve tried I couldn’t even make it past the third sip and had to pour them out. I don’t understand how people drink them.
It’s all about the balance of bitter and sour. If it’s too bitter and not sour enough, it tastes pretty meh. If it’s too sour and not hitter enough, it’s hard to drink.
You get just the right amount of each, and they begin to harmonize. That being said, I have had a lot of awful sours, with some even tasting like vinegar…
Coolship or Lambic type sours are especially good. Had one a few days ago that was aged with Rhubarb and Cranberries and it tasted like a thanksgiving dinner.
