Make an offer to add both Ukraine and Russia to the EU and that war will stop.

A tough internal sell but possible in theory.

But that comes with so much internal and external political work to do that nobody will think about it. Yet it could be cheaper than whatever other path history takes.

With all the Trump accusations of “EU was formed to screw US”, it was actually a CIA project for united subjugation. https://www.reddit.com/r/internationalaffairs/comments/1jznn6h/trump_eu_was_formed_to_hurt_us_trade/

It would take a long, far from overton window, democratization of Europe for it to consider inviting Russia to join. A trade deal with Russia without membership is closer, including one that just restores 2021 relationship. Yet, extreme hatred is tied to political control among many existing rulers, and process requires their replacement.
