More than three in five Canadians see Liberal Leader Mark Carney as the best person to negotiate with U.S. President Donald Trump, a new public opinion poll suggests.
The survey, commissioned by The Globe and Mail and La Presse and conducted by Nanos Research, says 62 per cent of respondents think Mr. Carney would do the best job in talks with Mr. Trump, with only 24 per cent choosing Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre.
24 per cent is still WAY too high.
From my perspective* it’s lower than the baseline 1/3rd of humans being awful though. Even some of that crowd went against their grain.
I like to think that there’s a slice of that awful third with enough awareness to know that even if they like what Trump is doing in theory, he is definitely not on team Canada.
I don’t know how many there are, but I know one real life example. Not sure if it’s of any interest to elaborate because he doesn’t seem…typical. I think he’s very interesting in a morbid way.
