From what I have been seeing lately the red maple leaf on packaging is kind of misleading. Some of them are product of Canada some are packaged in Canada and then some of them are inspected by Canada.
I think its purposefully difficult to understand.
The worst part of all is the rule that if the packaging, logistics, advertising etc. costs more than the contents you can label the product of Canada.
How about introducing a big red maple leaf to identify 100% Canadian products.
