Data from a new Gallup survey suggests that close to half of Democrats want their party to move more toward the middle, while more than 40% of Republicans are happy with their party.
erm… for them to move to center they have to shift left. Currently they are pretty much righ of the center. They are only to the left of Republicans.
That’s what I mean. They’re not left of center by global political standards, but they are the leftmost of the two only US options, making it “The Left” by US standards. I feel like this article is using that ambiguity to imply Democrats want a more conservative party rather than a more liberal one.
