@isVeryLoud Those @ to reply to people is something that applies only to Mastodon users to reply to any other platform.
People form other social networks don’t need to @ me. I’ll get the notification (that I ignore it or answer it later is a possibility).
Looks like you either have to @ people to reply to them, or it populates it for you
