    If that’s the federal governments response to an emergency in their state … why would the state want to stay inside the union?

    The federal government wants the benefits of the union but they don’t want to help you.

    People will start thinking of leaving and just work as a country on their own if they’re treated like this.

        One way out of an extortion racket is to stop paying … because what are your choices? … get beat up if you pay or get beat up if you don’t pay … the logical thing to do in the long run is to just stop paying because you’re going to get beat up any way.

        Canada isn’t going to annex California. It would nearly double their population and completely upend their politics. It would also be a logistical nightmare.

        Calexit though… Some people are starting to warm to the idea.

        Hell, at this point I’d say give us back to Mexico. At least they have a cool president.

          And we have enough economic production that said Mexican president would actually have the funds she needs to shut down the cartels for good.
