    I mean, depending on where exactly you ended up, it could go either way. I’ve watched some British TV over the years and I frequently need subtitles and I assume the actors are enunciating better than the average person.

      Thankfully, because of my British family, I am very good with most British accents. That said, the guy who delivered our groceries had an incredibly thick Lancashire accent and a stutter and I got a few phrases here and there. I got the important ones like ‘did you get my message’ and ‘no substitutions’ but he said something about going to Preston (nearby) which was just unintelligible, so I just nodded and said, “okay.”
