Ready player one.
That has to be one of the cringiest movies I’ve seen, is tries so hard, too hard with it’s “WE LOVE YOU NERD, YOU’RE SO COOL FOR PLAYING GAMES AND GETTING THIS 80S REFERENCE” message and the whole “corporation bad, the people good” narrative seems written for toddlers… The fan service feels cheap and adds nothing to the story.
Finally, they trying to make the people believe that very attractive girl with a barely visible red tint spot on her face is “ugly”… Like wtf?
Yet it received decent reviews plus being one of the most successful movies of that year.

Boooooooring
I really enjoyed them because I really enjoyed the books as a child.
A combination of nostalgia and a great portrayal of a very familiar story.
Having said that, I certainly appreciate that they’re actually crap for everyone else: and that’s perfectly fine.
No movie makes everyone happy, that’s probably for the best.
This is true: I have seen the first half hour of every Dune… But I ALWAYS pass out around that point.
Even the miniseries from 2000? It’s been awhile but I remember that one being pretty good.

Dune without Patrick Stewart or any other Xavier actors just doesn’t count.
But for reals, I honestly did find the two newest versions way more boring than the older ones.
Hmm… I think it’s too early to tell if Timothy might be a Xavier one day.
Honestly I can get behind three Xavier generations and all three dune generations having overlap. Feels right. Need to make this happen.
I would also accept Jason Momoa as Xavier. Better than fucking Aquaman.
