      At first I really liked the idea of haptics (circa 2010), but now I find haptics to be pretty annoying, plus they slow me down when they can’t keep up with typing (was definitely worse years ago, but I still run into it, as I hammer the daylights out of phones - it’ll sometimes lag enough on its own to think I held a key or 3 down, and I’ll get symbols).

      I still use vibration for notifications, but only very limited things, especially because it’s just too damn weak anymore to feel it in my pocket. My earliest phones could wake the dead, nowadays vibration is just too weak.

      And it’s definitely off for alarm clocks - that’s just jarring to have my phone vibrating across the night stand.
