BRASILIA, Aug 1 (Reuters) - Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has requested a phone call with his Brazilian counterpart Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva amid tensions over a contested election, a Brazilian source familiar with the matter told Reuters on Thursday.

The news was first reported by local TV channel GloboNews. No date has been set for the call, according to the source.
