Google Wallet's upcoming "Everything else" option will let you scan and save almost any document in the app.

The security of these cards relies on them being difficult to clone without the central authority providing the system to do so.

Hopefully more public transportation rolls out their pass onboarding into Google Wallet, Apple Pay, etc.
