The timing is needed. We need to ensure that all the Democrats are behind someone (Biden or Harris IMO) before we make such pushes for the final election. We need to either reconsolidate support for Biden, or get the Democrats to choose Harris (or some other reasonable pick) before making our push vs Trump / JD Vance.

I really don’t get this pick. It’s so bad. A religious conservative like Pence or a token black guy would have made far more sense. I suppose it shows that Trump cares about loyalty above all else.
Trump is doubling down upon how he wants his administration to be run. Not trying to build a coalition anymore. Therein lies the weakness, Trump’s base is going to be smaller than ever before.
This increases the damage if Trump actually becomes President though. So its more important than ever that we stop this. But the ever-shrinking base is quite evident.
