Equating the two might qualify as actual Holocaust denial.

We want you to remain living and growing and learning, friend ❤️
A smooth, voluntary, nonviolent transition to peace and harmony would be every leftist’s dream, but there are institutions with power who have used, are using, and will continue to use violence to prevent it from happening in order to maintain their material interests. Call it whatever you want, but the process of transitioning from our status quo to something better will require dismantling institutions that are capable of defending their existence with violence. It sucks.
midwest.social is also an explicitly leftist server
Then I guarantee you that there are plenty of really smart, thoughtful, genuine individuals on hexbear with whom you will find common cause ❤️
Sorry for the confusion, but thank you for bearing with it (no pun intended) and engaging in good faith. I promise you that, at the very least, hexbear users are real people who are being sincere.
One thing I like a lot about LotR is that it’s incredibly detailed and thorough, but there are still some things that simply exist regardless. In a world where magic is real, it wouldn’t make sense if everything had an explanation.
Why did the lemmy libs even leave reddit? This is exactly what they want.
Zero chill Onion is best Onion
Why they call it “child support” when the checks all end up in my ex-wife’s bank account, am I right, fellas?!
First one is your opener for sure, then you can segway into some family court jokes.
I like Bozeman as Zephram Chocoran’s home base because there’s a good chance that Montana might have been spared a direct nuclear strike. Same logic applies to why San Francisco looks so futuristic: it for sure got flattened entirely by a nuke, so they would have had to build it back up from nothing afterwards. I’m guessing the Golden Gate was still partly standing and they rebuilt it for the same reason we keep other historical buildings/monuments around.
No idea if any of that is canon, but if we aren’t overthinking Star Trek then why are we doing any of this?
Rick Berman was the executive producer on Enterprise. Given that he was born-and-raised in New York City, it’s possible that the answer is, like, Westchester.
I’ve heard similar, which is why I asked. I figure that there must be more to it than just testing the standard model, though. I can’t imagine the neoliberal academic apparatus is going to spend Ukraine-weapons-shipment kind of money just for that.
Have they really? That’s pretty great. TAS does have all the same actors from TOS doing the voices, it doesn’t get much more legit than that.
Nice. Yeah, I figured they must have some variety of relatively mundane applications or else it really wouldn’t make sense to spend billions of dollars on these huge facilities. I’d imagine it would be kind of like a supercomputer or a telescope, where the infrastructure gets built and then different groups take turns running experiments and gathering data for their specific projects.
Let’s start investigating! We should split up to cover more ground.
Anyone knowledgeable have a concise take on particle accelerators? Like, are they working as hoped/expected? Are we going to keep building ever-larger ones to find even more secrets? Is there a possibility we look back in 50 years and realize we spent a lot of effort on a failed theory? My understanding is limited, but I am generally in-support of big science projects.
The best part is that there’s no braindead mod or pissy admin who’s going to shut it down for jerkoff motion reasons. It just gets to exist. I could cry. This is what it’s all about, folks.
Trivializing the Holocaust by equating it to other events is an agreed-upon definition of Holocaust denial by a fairly broad range of institutions and viewpoints. Take from that what you will, but please don’t engage in Holocaust denial by pressing this point further. Unless you’re a Nazi, in which case I can’t really fault you for being consistent.
