The apple farmer can now sell apples for silver nuggets and use the silver to buy tools from someone else later, which the orange farmer either doesn’t have or is unwilling to part with. It allows for more complex transactions that then helped grow more complex societies.

You have to give Uhaul a copy of your driver’s license to rent a truck. If the plates are caught, a detective can run down when and where it was rented, and therefore by whom, should they choose to put the legwork in.

Yeah, it’s more an issue of someone was able to steal Army property and they want to make an example of them. You can buy all that legally in one day with just a driver’s license in GA.

Effort
A lot of people say that Lemmy is not worth the effort to demoralize because it’s too small, I say the effort is too small to not be worth the investment. I would even say that Lemmy users are self-selected for radicalization in some ways, broadly speaking they are fed up with corporate social media and corporatism in general.
It’s also a somewhat important step to have a place they can speak unfiltered amongst themselves, no matter how small the clubhouse is. That’s where the real funky shit happens.
Because the big players there are not serious idealogues, they are paid a paltry sum through private channels to constantly spread Russian and Chinese disinformation in their larger psyop campaign against the West.
I’d hope that would be horrific and plain enough to be the “come to Jesus” moment that would start a widespread coup against him. Or at the very least cause one (1) USSS agent to pull their SIG and put one in his head for the team.

Switzerland repeatedly driving home that Swiss weapons are geopolitically worthless and not worth the trouble of adopting. Why buy weapons from someone who might rugpull support for them at any time in order to save their own image?
