I hope this gets a thorough review and reparations are made to those who have suffered. I hope the world takes notice and learns of these atrocities. And I hope this never happens again.
I thought this was a report about the hundreds of graves they found a few weeks ago. But in fact its a different “school” (reeducation camp really) in a completely different place.
There needs to be an international investigation into the Canadian genocide. Many of the victims are still alive, and the state is clearly committed to hide these atrocities.
I really hope something comes from this that goes past the news too. Trudeau’s govt constantly does lip service to first nations peoples, while currently hiding atrocities committed against them.
Worst thing for me is that these are bring found by the native peoples themselves. In this case the Cowessess First Nation. Imagine having to unearth atrocities done to your people like this. Then to bring it to the attention to the genocidal circus that is their government.
Yup, the canadian govt likely knows about a LOT more of these, and are keeping them covered up.
Not that it could ever account for the genocide, but I hope these first nations get some restitution for this, or at least some large inquiries.
