I have !
instead of !bangs
set to search the bangs, because I’m always searching for what is the bang that I need. And that doesn’t really save me any time.
What’s a bang? It seems like a command put before a web search like “!wiki biology”.
Most abbreviations are pretty straightforward & become second nature if you use them regularly, but for starters you could make a cheatsheet with commands you plan to use.
Also, you could look into this open-source project: https://github.com/eykrehbein/bang
use letters or keywords in the sites you visit the most, according to their function. It is not necessary to use the whole name.
For example
- duckduckgo -> !ddg or !search
- duckduckgo images -> !images or !img
- mail.disroot.org -> !dsrt or !mail
A more complex one
- wikipedia
if you use only one language: !wiki or !w
if you use more than one version: english -> !wen or !wiki:en spanish -> !wes or !wiki:es
