I have ! instead of !bangs set to search the bangs, because I’m always searching for what is the bang that I need. And that doesn’t really save me any time.
What’s a bang? It seems like a command put before a web search like “!wiki biology”.
Most abbreviations are pretty straightforward & become second nature if you use them regularly, but for starters you could make a cheatsheet with commands you plan to use.

use letters or keywords in the sites you visit the most, according to their function. It is not necessary to use the whole name.
For example
- duckduckgo -> !ddg or !search
- duckduckgo images -> !images or !img
- mail.disroot.org -> !dsrt or !mail
A more complex one
- wikipedia
if you use only one language: !wiki or !w
if you use more than one version: english -> !wen or !wiki:en spanish -> !wes or !wiki:es
