    That’s a good point. An expensive qb coach but hey if he can turn Zach around… I’m not a Jets fan either. Just here for the chaos.

      The only problem is coaches salaries don’t count towards the cap, Aaron on the other hand…

        Maybe the NFL is different from the NHL, but players on LTIR in the NHL don’t count towards the cap. I have to imagine there’s something similar in the NFL.

          Nope. Anything you pay (except one year veteran minimum deals that get an exception to be counted at a slightly lower number) hits the cap.

          You can manipulate timing with contract structure, but there is no way to pay a player without it counting to the salary cap

            There is always the Don Muhlbach option. Rodgers retires, it lowers the cap hit to just this year for a prorated amount, they get to re-sign him as a coach/assistant, and they might get a compensatory pick out of it.
