I would preferred not to do a kijiji bed due to bed bug risk, but if that’s not a real concern, let me know!
Surplus furniture & mattress, go in there and tell them your budget -$100 and they’ll make you a deal.

Buy the most expensive mattress you can afford. You spend a third of your life in it.

Try the re-store. They frequently have brand new beds donated by corporate donors and sell them for a significant reduction.

If you’re not in a hurry check out bedstory on Amazon (or whatever Amazon alternative you choose).
I have the above linked Mattress, and have no complaints.

I don’t know what the store is called but they sell mattresses for quite a bit cheaper. It’s beside China pastry. I don’t know much about them just noticed it there when I got some pastries lol.

I just saw a brick flyer that they had 50% off mattresses. I think some were like 299. Or order a wayfair box bed. We have no issues with ours.

All depends on your bed frame. If it’s a low one/just a simple bed frame(metal) then yes to give it support. My bed frame had slats/was raised so didn’t need one

It’s supposed to be -16 tonight. Leave the mattress outside for a few hours and bedbugs will be dead.

Pest control guy here. Nope. They can survive - 30 in a mattress. Eggs are unbelievably tough.

No kidding . Thanks for the info, I always thought they couldn’t survive the cold. Is it heat that kills them?

Yes. 55c or higher direct exposure. A 45 mins in a dryer on high heat will kill them. Roaches are even tougher.

There’s a place on dewdney and broad that’s pretty cheap. Quality isn’t good but the price is right.
