I thought this was an interesting concept, so I decided to do some research. I turns out, the idea of an NFT game is not exactly the most earth shattering idea. There are plenty of NFT games that exist already that do the same thing.

Are any of them doing anything to make new and interesting experiences or are they just in-game stores and assets you can sell to each other… plus blockchain?

I didn’t look too closely. But there’s a whole list of them. There’s one where you can design cars for racing by combining different parts. You can then use NFTs to claim ownership of your design and trade it if you wish. Seems interesting to me.

I couldn’t tell you without exhaustively looking at all the games out there. With ethereum, you have a virtual machine on the blockchain, so all kinds of things are possible. And it does need the blockchain if you want the users creations to have real value that you can sell and trade in crypto.

I struggle to think of a reason why anyone in the gaming industry should give this man the time of day after the absolute disasters that were Curiosity and Godus.

But for media this is a good topic that will surely yield scandalous articles. Molyneux has shown time and time again that his games turn out to be just smoke and mirrors with overpromising. Someone else would quit game development after enough disasters but nooooo…
